Free license
Applies to the free samples offered for download on this site: the font file in a font ZIP, a PNG image, an MP4 video.
Short version: the free license is for one person, working for yourself or as a freelancer. Use the free sample in your own work and in client work: logos, packaging, ads, social posts, print and video. Your client gets the finished work and the project file, never the font file. If your client is one person and needs to edit the project, they download the same free font here. A studio, an agency or a team that uses the font in its own work buys the full family. A freelance job for a studio is fine: the studio is your client and gets only the finished work and the project file. No credit, no sign-up.
The full terms are below.
You can
- Use a free sample, as one person, in personal and commercial projects, including client work, branding, advertising, social media, print and video.
- Install a free font on your own computers and set text in it, as one person: for yourself or as a freelancer.
- Edit a PNG or MP4 sample and use it in your finished work.
- Give your client the finished work: images, prints, videos and PDFs for viewing and printing, with the font a PDF carries inside.
- Give your client the project file the work was made in, as long as the font file is not packed with it.
- Use it without attribution and without signing up.
You can't
- Pass the font file to anyone in any form, for money or for free: on its own, as is or changed, packed with a project (for example a collected fonts folder), in a template, a bundle, an asset library or a font site. Your client downloads the same free font from this site.
- Pass on a PNG or MP4 sample file itself, as is or edited, so that others can download it: on your site, in an asset library, a template pack or a bundle.
- Use a free font in a studio, an agency or a team, in its own work. They need a paid license: the full family on MyFonts or Creative Market.
- Embed a font file in a website, an app, a game or an e-book. Need that? Write to us.
- Claim that you made the font or the sample.
What a sample is
A free sample is one of three things. For a font, a ZIP with the font file of one style, a copy of this license and a one-page guide to the full family. For lettering and styles, a PNG image. For motion, an MP4 video. The full fonts, lettering sets and styles are separate products with their own licenses, sold on MyFonts and Creative Market. Buying there gives you the license of that marketplace; this license covers the free sample only.
More rights
